Strange Goings On at Bute Noir!
June 12, 2019There's something suspicious happening on the Isle of Bute. Is it a murder? Or even the theft of a prized masterpiece? No need to panic, it's just the island's very own Crime Writer Festival, Bute Noir, and once again Bute Island Foods is delighted to sponsor the event.
Many of the world's top crime writers are coming to the island for the festival, being held at various venues throughout Rothesay from 2nd - 4th August 2019. And when we say "top writers", we really mean it. Being interviewed in Rothesay Library on Friday 2nd August is Ian Rankin, the world renowned Scottish writer and creator of the Inspector Rebus novels. Such is Ian's ranking - please excuse the pun - in crime fiction that he has been a regular contributor to various BBC documentaries.
At the last count, 26 top authors will be arriving on the island for the festival, including Ann Cleeves who, in 2006, won the inaugural Duncan Lawrie Dagger, the richest crime-writing prize in the world, for her novel "Raven Black". And with so many writers coming to the island, there is bound to be an event of interest to you.
Don't delay, tickets are selling fast. You can book yours by visiting the Bute Noir website.
