Kosher Sheese on the Road

Our friends at KLBD, the largest Kosher certification agency in Europe, have taken to the roads, visiting many of the largest Jewish communities around the United Kingdom.   The latest event took place in Bristol on 3rd December, but it was the roadshow in Glasgow on 1st December that peaked our interest, given that it was on home turf!

It was an early start for Sharon Feldman-Vazan, KLBD's Retail Food & Drink Manager, up at 3.30am for a 7.30am flight to Glasgow.   Members of the Jewish community had been invited from all over Scotland, from Edinburgh to Dundee and as far north as Aberdeen - and the turnout was fantastic.   Around 200 adults attended the event, which included a wide range of Kosher certified foods, including our very own Sheese, in our own-branded packaging as well as the supermarket-branded products we make for Asda, Tesco and Sainsburys.   Many attendees had said they had seen the various products in supermarkets and health-food shops, but hadn't realised that they were indeed Kosher certified.   The roadshow gave them the opportunity to sample our vegan cheese, and they were delighted with the quality of the products, with many saying they would definitely be buying it.

A separate event had been arranged for children, but they too joined the adults and were able to sample the goods on offer - and they certainly went down a treat!   The owner of the local Kosher shop was also in attendance, and was approached by many of the guests afterwards pleading for him to stock our Sheese.

After not getting home until 10.30pm, it was indeed a very long day for Sharon.   But she was delighted with how well the roadshow had gone, the numbers attending and the popularity of all the goods on offer.   It is great to work with our partners to bring our products to as wide an audience as possible.
