Fancy enjoying all things vegan in the (hopefully) glorious British summer weather?  2020 sees a very welcome return of one of the world’s largest vegan festivals – Vegan Camp Out – being held at Newark Showground from 21st – 23rd August.  This huge festival was voted as the UK’s favourite vegan festival, and it’s not hard to see why.

Vegan Camp Out is a truly international festival, with people travelling from all over the world to attend – ticket sales show that visitors will be arriving from over 40 different countries!  So what makes this event so special?  One reason is that the festival is truly inclusive, not only for people who are thinking of taking their first steps to a vegan lifestyle, but perhaps more importantly it is very much a family event.

The Family Area is run by Primary Veducation, the UK’s first teaching and learning consultant for vegan inclusive primary schools.  The area has plenty for kids to do, with games, arts and crafts, face painting, bouncy castles and plenty more.  Hundreds of families attend Vegan Camp Out, as there is a dedicated family camping field away from the noisy stages and after party – and can only be accessed by those with family tickets ensuring safety.

The Vegan Activism programme once again is taking over the second stage, with some of the hardest working activists from all over the world giving a series of seminars, talks, panel discussions and workshops.  These help raise awareness and inspire vegans to think more deeply about the concepts and strategies of animal advocacy and movement building.  The line-up includes high profile campaigners such as Henry and Ian from BOSH!, actor Peter Egan and animal rights activist Joey Carbstrong, with more to be announced closer to the event.

There will be a huge selection of food, with pizza, kebab, juices, Indian, Chinese, ice cream, cakes, burgers hot-dogs – a truly endless list.  And of course gluten-free and raw options are always available.  And music will be provided by Mobius Loop and MC P Money – with a DJ set to round off each evening.

Tickets are selling fast for this most popular of events, so be sure to get yours quickly.  And of course you can always check out our events listing to find a vegan event near you.  With plenty to choose from it is certainly going to be a great vegan summer!
